Texas LIVE Covers Wimberley, TX

The girls of Texas LIVE headed to the Hill Country town of Wimberley this month to experience the charm and whimsy only Wimberley can provide. We packed our cars and hit the streets to find out everything you need to know when visiting this fascinating little place. Check out your May/June issue for all the details on how you can win a weekend getaway to Wimberley.

Alexandra's House

The first thing we did upon arriving in town was to check into the finest Bed & Breakfast in town, Alexandra's House.

Our hosts, Rosemary and Reed were GREAT! Although running the Bed & Breakfast is their 'job', we felt as though we were honored guests in their home.

The rooms were super comfy and spacious. Rosemary uses only the finest linens and pillows and no detail is left undone. The rooms also had their own TV's and DVD players - import information for the men in our lives ;)
Alexandra's House Dining Porch

Each morning Rosemary prepared for us a two-course breakfast that was to die for! Homemade scones, pancakes and fruit dishes were prepared with fresh-cut herbs from her hill country garden. Isn't her kitchen adorable? We sat around her island chatting and drinking coffee each morning - it made it hard to go to work!

We set up our computers in this fabulous screened in sun porch. The spring weather was fantastic - just cool enough to make the hot coffee taste even more wonderful. Rosemary has little hummingbird friends and other native Texas birds right outside her windows who shared their joyful songs with us each morning.

Wimberley is nestled next to the Blanco River approx. 15 miles west of San Marcos. The Blanco is spring fed so the water is always refreshingly cool and clean.

There are many outdoor attractions in Wimberley including the EmilyAnn Amphitheater & Gardens which hosts the annual Shakespeare Under the Stars performances. This little theatre has an incredible story behind it, and we will be publishing the behind the scenes story later this summer.
